June Update

We began the month by going to visit the Charis Community home.  We got to be there for the first delivery of laying hens which is one more step in getting this home to be more self-sufficient.  The home will be able to use the eggs to feed the children and sell the rest.  It's a great model.  It's also so beautiful there in the mountains.

While we still have had some sunny days, we went to a close hot spring.  It appeared to be closed at first, and we discovered a very cool hike that goes up to a cave.  Although we didn't make it to the cave (we weren't prepared with proper footwear or insect repellant), we did climb pretty high and saw some amazing views.  We did stop at the hot spring on the way down and had a picnic lunch.  Maybe next time we'll boil eggs in the water!

This month we also celebrated Father's Day.  We went to Phil's favorite restaurant in town for lunch, and then we had a potluck dinner with our friends and new teammates that arrived that day.

Z has really been getting into mathematical art thanks to the influence of Vi Hart.  It's fun to see what he comes up with.
